In late 2012, Universal Music aquired EMI Music, so after Tom passed away in early 2013 his catalogue was signed with Universal in 2014. The initial project that Universal wanted out was the 1st Volume of Toms Unreleased songs he had recorded before his passing. Inside has liner notes written by Tom’s son Tom JR and a picture of Tom’s grandson Thomas who was born a few months after Toms passing. A nice touch to the 1st Stompin’ Tom CD released posthumous.

Universal released the 2nd volume of Toms unreleased songs here with special liner notes from the former Governor General of Canada the Right Honourable Adrienne Clarkson who became good friends with Tom over the years. Two Great ambassadors of Canada. This album has a few favorites mixed in with the new songs that are of just Tom and his 100 year old Gibson Guitar. More to come on this great series!

Universal Music continued the Collectors Series that EMI started and released the Bud the Spud album as it had been not available for close to 10 years. Still perhaps the best selling original album Tom ever released with sales for as many as 7-8 Gold Albums since the 70’s. Quite a feat in Canada for a guy who didn’t get much Radio play!

Another album that had not been in stores for many years so it was included in the Collector Series. Who doesn’t know Margo’s Cargo? It was even made into a Music Video! Have you seen it?

Back in the early 70’s Tom recorded 120 old Country and Western songs to help keep them relevant and popular. These songs were released as two 5 LP vinyl sets and were never made available in CD format until 2015 when Universal released the first volume of those songs. There is plans to create a series of several volumes of all 120 songs. Stay tuned!

This album was from 1993 and was included as another addition to the Collector Series. It was re-released special for the Stompin’ Tom Tribute Show by Whiskey Jack called “Storys and Songs of Stompin’ Tom” so that they could make it available at their Tribute shows. Whiskey Jack is the featured band backing up Tom on this album and they toured with Tom across Canada in the 90’s. The inside of the package contains photos from various Honourary Doctorate ceremonies from when Tom received those awards from Universities in Canada. Hence the name “Dr. Stompin’ Tom”!

Universal wanted to honour Tom with a re-designed package for Toms greatest selling Compilation, A Proud Canadian, calling it A “Truly” Proud Canadian, and enhancing it as the 1st “2-CD” package having 1 album entitled “The Hits” and the other called “The Country”. This was only available for a limited time and may very well be the best Stompin’ Tom Compilation created to date. If you have one, that’s great!

Also released at the same time as the Double CD Proud Canadian shown above, was a special single CD Version of A Truly Proud Canadian for Walmart that was available at a discount price for their stores only. 20 songs chosen from the 40 song selection of the Double CD.

Many requests were received since Toms CTV TV Special aired in 2006 asking for the Soundtrack to be released from the Stompin’ Tom “Live in Concert” Special filmed at Hamilton Place Theatre, in Hamilton Ontario. Universal made good on those requests and created the soundtrack for fans to enjoy.
