Notes About This Release
Tom’s last album on Boot was “Gumboot Cloggeroo”. One of the many excuses Tom was told by Radio why he wasn’t being played was that his songs did not have enough instrumentation and were too “simple”. So Tom decided to hire a big band in the studio for this album, as you may have noticed, and yet Radio still refused to play any of the songs. So we all wonder what was the real reason Radio would not play Stompin’ Tom songs in regular rotation as they did with many other Canadian Artists who had much lower sales than Tom in Canada…. Shortly after this album was released, Tom entered into a self-imposed exile from the music industry, to later re-emerge in the mid 1980’s with his ACT label. Boot Records continued operating until the mid 1980’s.
