A.C.T. RECORDS
In 1986 Tom quietly decided to start another Recording Company and named it A-C-T Records Ltd. It stood for Assist Canadian Talent.
His goal was to help other artists get on a record and give them a chance at having their songs about Canada heard. The first release that year was simply titled Stompin’ Tom is back to Assist Canadian Talent as seen below.

Notes About This Release
Tom’s second original album on his ACT label featured a variety of new songs, including a duet with his wife Lena. Tom created a great cover photo showing “2 Toms” playing music together. While Tom was out of the Business for many years, he decided to learn a few instruments and when it was time to make a new original Album he played most of the instruments heard in the songs himself. He admits it isn’t perfect but he wanted to see if he could pull it off.
SPECIAL NOTE
ACT also re-released most of the Stompin’ Tom albums from the Boot Records catalogue to help generate sales for the new company. However after a couple years it was well known that Tom had resurfaced from his self imposed exile from the Music Business and Capitol Records came calling to sign Tom to his first ever Major Label Record Contract so ending ACT Records release of new albums and the start of Toms 2nd half of his great career.
As we do not have photos of all the ACT albums, we simply list the catalogue numbers and the few photos we do have. If you happen to have any of these titles listed feel free to send us a high resolution photo of the album cover and back, and we will insert it here in the discography.
